Welcome to our second collection of cards, All Occasion Cards. The first collection which came out in July 08, was called Christmas Cards, after that release we received dozens of requests for more cards! We set our artist to work to create cards for other occasions like weddings, valentines, St Patrick’s Day, and many others. When we created these designs we wanted to make the cards as easy as possible to embroider. The collection consists of 16 different full designs for cards and 15 different design elements for you to create your own arrangements. The full cards include a template stitch that will allow you to successfully place your card in the hoop. We also included 2 versions of each of the full cards. The second version is a smaller embroidery size for smaller cards. The cards were purchased online (information about the blank cards is included in the tutorial.) You can also purchase blank greeting card stock at most of your local artist and craft supply retailers. Just think about how you can personalize your cards with jewels, paint, pastels, colored pencils or even ribbon.
We design quite a few Christmas collections each year at Anita Goodesign, choosing a name for them is often the most difficult part. Since we interact with our customers on Facebook, so often we decided to let you choose the name for this collection based on a preview of a few of the designs. The winner is “All that Jingles” which is perfect for this fun whimsical assortment of Christmas designs. There are all sorts of critters and objects in this collection, we chose bright colors and appliques for this collection and it is sure to bring a smile to anyone’s face this Holiday Season. There are 25 different designs and most of them come in multiple sizes. Designs are for the 5’x7’ and 6” x 10” hoop.
We created an assortment of biker related icons, like skulls, eagles, flags & flowers. These designs will look great on any type of home decor items & also clothing like leather vests, denim shirts & sweatshirts.
Eight years ago I designed my first collection for the home embroiderer; that collection was titled Americana. Since I designed that before Anita Goodesign, I felt that it was time to revisit the theme. This collection uses traditional patriotic symbols in large scenes with a lot of detail. In addition to the large scenes, there are many smaller designs included to compliment any project. For the projects we created two unique pillows using the corner designs along with a center design.
Here at Anita Goodesign, we are celebrating our 10th Anniversary with a ring… a double wedding ring! We are excited to announce a very special quilting release “Anita’s Anniversary Quilt”. This collection commemorates a decade of bringing both traditional and modern embroidery and quilting designs into the homes of our valued customers. This beautiful collection is a modern take on the traditional “double wedding ring” and “fan quilt” motifs. The collection includes 80 quilt blocks, 7 different flower design groups, over 40 individual designs, and 9 unique scalloped borders. The borders are made in the hoop so you can complete your very own double wedding ring quilt to treasure for years to come. Designs are compatible with our Mix & Match and Quilting Essentials Collections.
Anita’s Card Holders are fast and easy “In the Hoop” Projects, which means you can make them with no additional sewing! Imagine what you can do with all of these beautiful freestanding lace designs. The possibilities are endless. This pack has thirty-three designs for every hoop size. You will find seven different projects in the collection and you will love them all. A 15-page lace tutorial as well as a re-sizing program is also included.
As all of you know almost all of our collections are designed for large format hoops. Instead of creating large designs for this collection we did the opposite, we created tiny ones! We designed 60 mini designs that all measure only 3/4” x 3/4”. These designs are perfect to add to garments on collars or in between buttons. The following pages will show you examples on how we added these designs to garments; you can add 1 or multiple designs together.
When we were doing research for new collections we stumbled upon an old sewing catalog from the 1920′s and in the catalog were dozens of patterns for lacy style butterflies. We were inspired by these designs and gave the concept to our artists to create these beautiful antique butterflies. There are 12 different butterflies and each butterfly comes in 3 different sizes. There are also 13 different frames that look great when they are combined with the butterflies to create larger arrangements. In addition to these designs we are including a quilt block that we used to create our project.
Welcome to our newest Vintage Collection titled “Antique Days of the Week.” These designs may look like your typical redwork designs but they are actually quite different. Each stitch repeats 7 times to mimic hand embroidery thread. The look is quite different and unique! There are seven different main designs signifying each day and a different antique. Each main design comes in two different sizes. We broke each design into smaller elements so the individual girls or saying can be added to any project you desire. We created tea towels for this collection. There is a tutorial on the following pages that will demonstrate how to create standard tea towels. You can make a tea towel out of linen or high quality cotton. For this collection we used natural cotton. For an added vintage touch you can add vintage pieces of fabric or trims to the tea towels.
Apples can be served many ways, in a basket, in a bowl, or mixed up into apple butter. Here at Anita Goodesign we serve it all ways. The detail work in the shading is second to none, looks so real you could almost take a bite.
This collection happened by accident! We wanted the designs to all be beautiful and stand on their own. So, we decided to design a small art quilt and see where it went. The end result is a mini quilt that will fold flat to become a beautiful greeting card! We added an inside design element so you can include a note, photo or even one of the included embroidery sayings. Who wouldn’t cherish a gift like this forever?
We also include instructions on how you can hang them alone or in multiples. Our Premium Collection contains 35 breathtaking pieces of art in a wide assortment of subject matters, 2 different insides as well as 25 sayings. Each of the designs come in 3 sizes, 8”x12”, 7”x11” and 6”x9”. Each design is digitized 100% by hand in free motion stitches! Whether you use the designs as cards, frame them or create wall hangings with them, we know you will love these beautiful designs as much as we do.
This collection offers beautiful fans, peacocks, cranes & oriental garden scenes along with some opportunities to do several wonderful applique designs. As a free bonus we have included Lace to Go, which is a lace Chinese takeout box. It even unfolds like the real thing & it comes with the designs to make the display base that it sits on. Yes, you can even do it in pint & quart size.
We are very excited to present our Asian Accessories collection to you.
These “In the Hoop” Projects are unique in the fact that they contain very detailed embroidery design. Each accessory has a beautifully quilted background as well as Koi. This collection is broken into three different parts. The first part is zippered bags. There are three different bags that can be used as purses, cosmetic cases or camera bags. The unique part of these bags is that they are quilted! We used batting along with a unique folding technique to create elegant quilted bags. We also used a new folding technique that allows you to hide the zipper. The bags are also lined with organza for a unique finishing touch. The bags are extremely easy to create and we guarantee that you will love them. The second part of the collection consists of sleeves. The sleeves are perfect to hold your phone and Mp3 player, along with a case for eyeglasses. The sleeves use a unique construction technique as well. The final part of the collection is each Koi is included individually so you can add the designs to any other project.
There are two kanji symbols in this project. The symbol ending in 8 that looks like 2 characters side by side is the kanji symbol for “koi”. The second symbol, 9, is the kanji symbol for “dream”.
Asian Fusion is another exciting collection in our Fashion Line. This collection is full of Asian influenced designs with dragons, lotus flowers, lanterns, elegant birds, applique fans and butterflies. We created a beautiful velour jacket, shirt and even embellished shoes and a hat with these intricate designs. Just think of the possibilities using metallic threads and Asian theme fabrics for applique. We hope you enjoy this collection as much as we have in creating these projects. You may even go as far as using chopsticks after you embroider your first project!
The Asian Quilt collection has 42 different designs included in 3 different sizes of each. There are three types of designs included in the collection. There are traditional Asian elements in the collection as well as connecting Sashiko style designs. Sashiko is a beautiful stitching style that is created entirely by hand. It is impossible to recreate the stitching on an embroidery machine, but you can still embroider beautifully inspired Sashiko designs. I created this collection in a different way compared to our other quilt collections. Each design includes a squaring stitch; this is the first step in the design. This designates the size of your block so you no longer need to measure and square off the fabric. Creating one of our projects is even easier now. This technique is all explained in the tutorial. We hope you enjoy our new Quilting line and we look forward to creating even more designs for quilting very soon!
There’s nothing like a trip to the zoo! Our artist Rachel drew all of her favorite zoo animals in this whimsical collection. Each of the 12 different animals comes in 2 sizes, the first for the 5″x7″ hoop and the second for the 6″x10″. All of the designs use applique to keep the stitch counts from getting too high. For our animals we used felt as our applique. For our project we embroidered the animals on a hooded sweatshirt and then further embellished the sweatshirt with faux animal fur to coordinate with the designs. We’re sure you will love embroidering this collection.
Spring is almost here and what better way to celebrate it’s coming than with beautiful roses. The collection consists of six gorgeous roses brimming with leaves and buds. There are also plenty of design elements to supplement the roses and we’ve also included a few rose buds to help decorate your projects. The most exciting part of the collection is the huge rose laurel project we created. The design when finished is 27″ by 27″and consists of 15 hoopings in the 5″ x 7″ hoop. We created a deluxe tutorial and templates to help you through the process.
You are going to love the latest addition to our vintage line titled Autumn Cutwork. This beautiful collection features leaves, acorns, pumpkins and beautiful autumn arrangements all using vintage cutwork techniques. The difference between this collection and old-fashioned cutwork is that instead of cutting each hole by hand when the design is complete, you cut the holes first and let the design embroider over them. We accomplish this using a unique cutwork technique that is included in our tutorial.
We created two different table runners for this collection. We used the cutwork designs in two different color combinations. Both table runners were purchased at a store, this saved a lot of time because we didn’t have to construct the project from scratch! You can even use a table runner you already have. We then stitched the designs on high quality linen and applied them to the blank runners. Our tutorial will give you the step-by-step instructions on how to create these great projects. There are 8 individual design icons without the medallion portion that comes in two sizes each. The medallions come in 2 different sizes and the corners have been re-sized and rotated so you don’t have to do it!
Autumn rivals Spring as the most colorful time of the year. Anita Goodesign has provided you with Mother Nature’s best in the way of fruits, vegetables, nuts, leaves and a delightful scarecrow. Four years ago we released a collection called “Autumn Harvest”. The collection contained popular design elements like pumpkins, scarecrows and leaves. The collection was extremely popular over the years and we decided to revisit the theme with a different artist and new art. The Autumn Harvest 2 collection is full of beautiful designs. There are five different applique leaves in 2 different sizes, as well as falling leaf scenes. There are pumpkins, Jack-O-Lanterns and two different scarecrows. There are 48 different files in all and the designs will look great on garments, accessories and home decor projects.
Autumn Monogram has unique embellishments swirling around & over top of each letter. Embellished letters are available in 2 sizes 4″x4″ & 5″x7″. Unadorned letters in 2 sizes are also available along with 8 different motifs to go along with the monograms. By arranging & mirroring the motifs you can create beautiful quilt blocks & large monogram designs.
Autumn Splendor is a design pack with 16 reversible freestanding leaf designs in two sizes. This project uses a unique three-step appliqué technique where you can incorporate yarn, ribbon, thread, or any other texture you wish to trap, under a layer of tulle. Use an assortment of fabrics and a variety of colors to create a unique table arrangement, fashion accessory, or as an embellishment. We chose to embellish a candle and table runner arrangement with our leaves. So let your creativity go crazy and incorporate these fun and colorful leaves into your next project!
Ahoy Mate! This nautical themed baby collection is perfect for any little boys’ room! For our collection project we created a three-block wall hanging. The designs were all embroidered on high quality white cotton. All of the applique fabrics are seersucker, which adds a unique touch to the designs. We used denim for the borders, which ties in well with the overall design theme. For the outer edge border, we used the yellow gingham seersucker and for a finishing touch we added two grommets and a rope for hanging the quilt. We hope you have fun and smooth sailing as you embroider this collection!

How can anyone resist these beautiful colorful baby butterflies that are being released just in time for spring. We used a variety of cotton fabrics to create these cute designs and embroidered them all on a pink background. We used the 9-block quilt pattern and then we embellished the quilt with gingham ribbons. In addition to the quilt we created a cute wall hanging using the same fabrics and ribbon. This is another collection designed by our artist Rachel, when we suggested baby dinosaurs she immediately understood our direction and created 12 cute and cuddly dinosaurs. The end result once they were embroidered was stunning. We went in a slightly different direction with this collection; each dinosaur comes in three versions, a large and small applique and a stitched design. The project we created is a wall hanging that contains 4 of the dinosaurs. There is an additional tutorial included on the CD-Rom called “Baby Tutorial” This tutorial demonstrates how to embroider applique designs, it also includes pattern and ideas for quilts, diaper bags, bumper pads and other baby projects. We chose a flannel for the background and an assortment of colors of felt for the appliques of the dinosaurs. We wanted to give the completed project a bright look and the brightly colored felt fabric did the job.

These cute giraffe designs are perfect for any child’s room. The project we created is a cuddly baby quilt with flannel. The giraffes are applique designs. There is an additional tutorial included on the CD-Rom called “Baby Tutorial” This tutorial demonstrates how to embroider applique designs, it also includes pattern and ideas for quilts, diaper bags, bumper pads and other baby projects. We wanted to give the completed project a bright look so we added the ribbon that resembles a measuring tape.

This is a cute new collection designed by our artist Rachel. She created 12 cute and cuddly owls that we embroidered using different types of furry minky fabric. The owls became even cuddlier with this decorative fabric. Each of the owls comes in two different sizes for all of your embroidery needs. For our samples we created two simple pillows featuring an owl with a ladybug and the other with a ladybug and a bright green caterpillar. We framed the owl with yellow grosgrain ribbon and then added a few ladybug buttons that we found in a fabric store. Then we dressed up the green pillow with brown fringe with balls and eyelet lace. We finished the round pillow with white tassel trim. There is an additional tutorial included on the CD-Rom called “Baby Tutorial” which demonstrates how to embroider applique designs. It also includes patterns and ideas for quilts, diaper bags, bumper pads and other baby projects.
For this project we used quilt pattern 2 from the Baby tutorial. The patterns and tutorial are located on the CD Rom in the tutorials folder. This is an easy quilt to create; all of the Panda bears were embroidered on a mint colored flannel. Once they are embroidered we trimmed them into squares and then stitched the individual squares onto the background fabric. This technique eliminates conventional piecing. You can then embellish the squares with ribbon or rick-rack.

Whether you create this project or design your own, everyone is sure to love the Baby Peacocks. For the project we created a 6 block wall hanging using the larger 6″x10″ peacock designs. Each block is 10″ x 14″ when finished (don’t forget to allow for seam allowances). First we embroidered all of the peacocks on a white cotton fabric with a small tone on tone pattern. Then we added a 1″ border between each block using different shades of blue grosgrain ribbon and then framed all four blocks with 2″ of the turquoise marble fabric. Once we were finished we bound the wall hanging with the gold marble cotton. There is an additional baby tutorial located on the CD-Rom that showcases different types of quilt patterns as well as instructions on how to create applique and stuffed animals as well.
We created a beautiful wall hanging with the baby penguin designs. Instead of standard straight blocks we created a slash pattern as a background using pastel marbled flannels in shades of blue and lavender. We created the background first and then embroidered the penguin designs on it. You can place as many penguins as you like on it. Of course these designs would look beautiful on clothing as well. There is an additional tutorial on the CD-Rom that shows you lots of other ideas for baby quilts, and other projects as well as instructions on creating applique.
We embroidered the ponies using minky fabric for the appliques. We found that by using minky fabric the ponies looked even cuter and you will find them irresistible. We embroidered all of the designs on a marble flannel fabric. For the project we created a 4 block wall hanging using the larger 6″x10″ pony designs. Each block is 10″ x 10″ when finished (don’t forget to allow for seam allowances). We then added a 1″ border between each block using the spotted minky fabric and then framed all four blocks with 2″ of the same spotted minky. Once we were finished we bound the wall hanging with the marble flannel. Whether you create this project or design your own, everyone is sure to love the baby ponies.

Each car has its own unique theme; there are animal cars, people cars, logs, rocks and much more. Each of the train designs come in two sizes 5″x7″ and 6″x10″. We created a unique wall hanging project and the instructions for the wall hanging as well as the fabrics we used in the design are in the tutorial. Each design was embroidered on a piece of denim that was then turned into a small pillow. We then added three grommets to each side of the pillow. The pillows were stuffed with poly pillow stuffing to add dimension. Decorative ribbon was then used to tie the blocks together. You can make the train wall hanging as long as you want, just add more blocks!

What’s that, they prefer water travel, yes we have boats too. Also included are clouds, traffic lights, water towers and tutorials to explain it all. Enjoy!
Using these adorable turtle designs we created a quilt in a blue and green color scheme which is great for a little boy, but change the colors to pink and green and it is perfect for a little girl. First, we embroidered each of the turtle designs on squares of beige colored knit fabric. Then we attached the embroidered squares to the green plaid seersucker fabric background using rickrack and ribbon. This technique gives the baby quilt a unique look!
This collection is full of soft and beautiful baby designs. There are storks, booties, rattles, a rocking horse, a baby buggy and a host of others. All of the flowers in the collection were hand digitized to simulate hand stitching and most of the running stitches are very long and use seven ply stitches to simulate thicker hand embroidery thread. Create a lap quilt using three of the jumbo designs. We used cotton thread for a vintage look as well and we only used 8 colors in the whole collection. We can assure you that no matter what project you use these vintage designs for everyone will love them!

Our first release in this new line is called Baltimore Quilt and is based on traditional quilt designs. We are giving you two types of designs in this collection. The first type of design is redwork. You get 20 different designs digitized in four different sizes so that no matter what size hoop you have you can enjoy these designs. The second type of design is a fully stitched version of the design in two different sizes. These designs look great on smaller quilts. We have also included five different stipple frames that can be merged with the stitched designs in your embroidery machine for beautiful stippled borders that look like you created them by hand.
The Baltimore Revisited collection was inspired by one of our previous releases “Baltimore Quilt”. The Baltimore Quilt collection was designed years before the concept of Mix and Match quilting was released. I took a few pieces of the art from that collection and re-digitized them using a bolder bean stitch and folded fabric borders. The end result is like nothing you’ve ever seen. The folded fabric borders really compliment the designs. I then created a few different borders and transitional blocks to complete the collection. We chose floral fabrics in shades of slate blue, tan and burgundy for the collection and they really compliment the look.
String the letters and shapes together to create your own personal banners or wall hangings. You will create a very soft quilt when you use polar fleece for both the applique designs and for the background fabrics. We backed the quilt with polar fleece as well. Just think of the color combinations you could come with, even your favorite team colors!

Ready for the beach? This scene reminds me of my childhood on the Jersey Shore with lighthouses, sailboats, beautiful beach and a sand castle. Whenever you look at this tile scene you will remind you of being on vacation. This was a fun collection to design. The design is completely hand shaded for extra realism. This is a nine block tile scene that comes in three file sizes; a medium size for the 6′x10′ hoop, a small size for the 5′x7′ hoop and a large size for the 8″x12″ hoop. You will notice that we did not stitch any ribbons over the seams that join the blocks in this tile scene. This is a little more difficult because you will need to be more precise. However, there is nothing wrong with adding ribbon and we show you how that technique is done in the tutorial.
We created a beautiful quilt using the bible story designs. We used pattern one from the tutorial. We embroidered each of the designs on the light blue flannel and then applied them to the brown marble background using rickrack and ribbon. This technique gives the baby quilt a unique look! There is an additional baby tutorial located in the tutorials folder of the CD-Rom that illustrate this technique as well as other baby quilt techniques.

They are the perfect size to embroider on a pillow, wall hanging, tote bag or event the back of a shirt or jacket. Each large butterfly consists of 3 different elements, don’t worry we include a complete tutorial on creating the projects. There are 12 different big butterflies and each has a different theme. The themes range from a lace like Victorian butterfly to a modern butterfly created with leather! We are sure you will love our different spin on the classic butterfly design.

These designs look great on a quilt or wall hanging. In fact, we created a wall hanging with project instructions just for this release. The design collection includes numerous small embellishments like birds, small birdhouses & flowers for you to create interesting scenes of your own. All of the birdhouses are hand shaded for that realistic look.
When we were researching new embroidery trends we found a lot of examples of Blackwork on dresses, pillows and other decorative items. As you know, Blackwork is a vintage style of embroidery, so we decided to create our own version of Blackwork designs as part of our new Heirloom line. Each design was digitized using 7-ply stitches to mimic hand embroidery along with beautiful motif stitches in the fill patterns. There are 40 designs total and all of the large designs come in multiple sizes. The designs, as you can imagine, stitch very quickly. There is only one color in the designs and no special techniques are required. Just hit the start button on your machine and watch the designs stitch. The designs will look beautiful on both clothing and home decor items. We created 2 pillows, the first using only 1 design and the second combining multiple designs together. Designs for 5”x 5”, 6”x 10”, 7”x 11” and 8”x 12” hoops.

We wanted to create a quilting collection that didn’t use a square as the base. We decided to design the Botanical Impressions collection using the harlequin diamond instead. The designs themselves were designed to be stitched in one color and contain beautiful flora and fauna elements. There is a huge amount of detail in every one of these designs. Every time you look at them you will notice something new! Each block is bordered with a 3/4” folded fabric border so that you don’t need to add one later. You are going to love the latest addition to our vintage line titled Butterfly Cutwork. The difference between this collection and old fashion cutwork is instead of cutting each hole by hand after the design is completed, you cut the holes first and let the design embroider over them. We accomplish this using a unique cutwork technique that is taught in our comprehensive tutorial. There are 46 different files total and the project for this collection was tea towels, which make the perfect addition to any kitchen. This collection and they way we chose the colors in the designs differ from almost anything else we’ve ever done. We decided to make the designs tonal, meaning all of the colors are in the same shade, which is also the shade of the base fabric. It is actually an easy technique; simply choose 7 or 8 colors that are all a shade apart. For example on the pink tea towel we chose 8 shades of pink thread. The best part of this technique is that you can mix brands of thread without issue. After the colors are chosen simply use them at random, they will all look beautiful together and go perfectly with the background. Remember, choose your fabric first and then choose 7 or 8 shades of thread to go with it. No matter what your color choice is the designs are guaranteed to look great.
Butterfly Lace Basket is by far the most beautiful & intricate lace design collection you will ever see. It looks fantastic in any color, with or without jewels, rayon or metallic thread, we’ve tried it all & it keeps getting better every time we do it. Butterfly Quilt contains two different types of designs. The first type is a traditional Redwork design in 3 different sizes, so no matter what type of machine you have or what size block you want to create you will have the perfect design. The second type of design is the Redwork Design framed by beautiful motif stitches. By stitching the design with a layer of batting between two layers of fabric you can create a unique puffy quilt. The motif designs come in three different sizes. We created two different projects, one with each type of design.
The Carried Away Tote Bag lends itself to the use of color blocking with these doodle designs. Now I have created a collection to uses these charm packs. There are 15 different quilt blocks that all use the charm pack swatches.
